Myself

Hello everybody !

I'm Sophie. I'm very sensitive and dreamy. I love nature, ephemeral things like the sun setting on the horizon, the scent of a flower, the song of a bird, the sweetness of the air on my skin or the smile of a baby.
I love to laugh, move, read, cultivate myself, learn, discover, travelling, and a thousand other things that I'll try to make you discover through this blog.
The only drawback is that despite my eagerness to learn English, this language doesn't want of me.

The proof with this anecdote : In 2011 I left a week in Ireland's circuit travel. That's absolutely wonderful ! As we were doing a lot of autobus, the morning after breakfast, I was went to run a quarter of an hour every morning. The fifth day, before we left Cork, I'm lost not far from the statue of Saint Matthew. I prepared one question to ask in first passerby that I meet. When I met a man, he replied at my question :
— Vous êtes Française ?
I was a little disappointed, but I haven't had difficulties to find my way.

Moreover you can visit my travel book, saturated with spelling mistakes, I apologize in advance here: http://irishjoy.free.fr/voyage.php

Aiyana

I have a cute little cat. Finally it have six years now. Her name is Aiyana. Which in American Indian means "eternal flower". She is crazy ! This is, among other, one of the reasons why I love living with this teddy!

When she was a baby she was trying to imitate the cries of birds. That was fun, that's as if his jaw was buggy. One day she made a huge leap and his two front legs  landed just before a hot plate.

She is a specialist decorating intèrieur. The trouble is that my old prpriétaires did not like his style, and I had for € 100 deposit. they must not understand abstract art I think.

Aiyana love luxury croquettes, hugs and sport. She likes to come to bite my feet at night just because she wants to play too.

It makes me quite think of this video when she has fits of madness :

Anastassia Elias

Two weeks ago I looked for sources of inspiration for my door-folio and I discovered, by chance, the works of Anastassias Elias.
I would never have imagined that with toilet rolls we can realize such marvels !
When I see the accuracy with which it is realized, I think of the embroidery and the poetry.

I also think of Michel Ocelot, the director of Kirikou who creates short films with some cut paper.

I also visualize " Sun tunnels " of Nancy Holt, artist of the Land art who plays with the dates of the solstices and the position of the sun.

I deeply invite you to look, for the pleasure of eyes, again and again the short histories or the small worlds which seem to take life in these toilet rolls.

Land Art

As I spoke to you about Nancy Holt, I have absolutely to speak to you about her artistic movement: the Land art.
The name speaks about him even, the Land art aims at creating works in the nature, with the nature, in accordance with this one and by taking into account the impact that it will have in time: short-lived sculptures.
Why I like so much this movement? It is rather simple, I find that the nature offers us what it of more beautiful. It brings us the oxygen and the real happiness in a free way. It is the source of the life and regrettably we do not respect it enough. Were not ever dazzled to you by a sunset or the perfume of a flower? The feelings are so different that those to possess a "beautiful" car for example.
There are of numerous artists then I am essentially going to quote you my preferred.

In head there is Andy Goldsworthy, Wolfgang Laib and Marie Denis.
What I like particularly at the first one's it is that he sculptures in the ice, and I find that magnificent ! He also gives forms of nests, eggs in some of his works a little as if he reconstituted the birth. And then, he plays with colors and it is simply... whaou ! I suggest you to look at what he is doing on Google images because he creates a lot !
I admire Wolfgang Laib because it realizes himself the work of thousands of bees. He collected some pollen of hazel tree for various works. It is at the same time simple and so bright !
And then there is "a chamber of the certainties " which is a wax room which can be visited in full mountain. It's very summarized, but if it interests you there is an enormous search behind this work.
Concerning Marie Denis it is simply because she was my teacher in the School of Fine Arts, because she is one of the teachers the most brilliant of all my schooling and the only one to have supported me so much when I had health problems. I kept in touch with her, she's great, and what is very funny it is that her daughter been born hardly two months later my only nephew. She is extrêmment sensitive and she composes of the visual poetry. The work which I prefer of her it is " The divan " realized in 1995 in Ardèche and that has a whole history.

I like enormously one of Walter de Maria's works, it is about "The Lightning Field" who is situated in the New Mexico.
It is a little bit contradictory with what I have you say at the beginning, but it's somewhat as if he had succeeded in realizing what nobody not other had known how to make before him. By implanting 400 stainless steel posts in a desert zone often subject to thunderstorms, he(it) creates sorts of lightning choreographies. He draws with flashes of lightning and an energy which the man dreams to know how to better use.

It's many more there artists, known and the the least known. Robert Smithson, Richard Long, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, etc.

Mysteriously your

I adore the riddles! Having a profile rather scientific, what could seem paradoxical with my passion of letters and drawing (I shall explain you it in a next article), I am extremely curious and I like understanding the things.
So I solve riddles on various sites as Prise2Tête or E.A.T.
I use mathematical formulae, stylistic devices, constraints of Oulipo. I develop my skills in various domains, I maintain my reflection and I try e to work my memory. And, " the icing(cherry) on the cake ", I discover heaps and heaps of fascinating, comic, funny anecdotes, stranged and sometimes dramatic also.

I tell you any some for the pleasure?

I begin with the legend around the logo of the company Apple which fascinated me. It is known a little more since the movie "Imitation Game" that went out in 2014. Alan Turing, mathematician and cryptologue English, and at the origin of the first computers. He saved us the life during the Second World War by creating a machine named "Enigma" capable of deciphering the codes of the Germans. Which allowed to thwart many attacks.
The problem, it is that Alan Turing was a homosexual, and in the time it was not tolerated. Thus he had to undergo a chemical castration. It was unbearable for him, and, as unconditioned fan of Snow White and seven dwarfs whose he whistled the song frequently, Alan would have committed suicide by eating a poisoned apple.
Sad history which also shows to what extent the man can be inhuman sometimes. I ignore if the link with the apple outlined by Apple is real, but if it is the case, then it is a great tribute.

The legend also tells that there would be a code, although he would not be respected by the set of the sculptors, concerning equestrian statues. The position of the horse would allow to determine the death of his rider. For example, if the horse has both raised lower limbs, his rider would have died in the fight. On the other hand, if his four clogs affect the ground, the rider would have had a natural death. If alone the right lower limb is raised, the rider would have succumbed to the consequences of his wounds.

Another anecdote than I find very funny it is the one of the Invisible Pink Unicorn which we name "its roseur". This is a parody of the religion resting on the paradox that she is pink and invisible at the same time. The idea would have be born at Usenet and would have then was developed by a group of students of Iowa.
Afterward, Steve Eley's manifesto would have activated(started) even sillier articles on this faith as its tendency for the raisin bun symbolizing the expanding universe or still his(her) association in the mystery of socks missing person in the laundry basket. The latter would be a sign of favor.
The pink unicorn prefer pineapple and ham pizzas, but would not like peppers. Her sworn enemy would be the purple oyster which would formerly have been a servant of the invisible pink unicorn. But, having tried to convince believers that the unicorn preferred pepperoni pizzas, this one would have been banished pastures and would have been sent back towards the bad absolute.

Sportily

I love extreme's sport. The adrenaline rush makes me feel good.

I love skiing, especially as I dream to live toward the Swiss border. The landscape is breathtaking ! Summer mountains, hiking, nature in its most beautiful state. Waiting, I do a lot of skating. It's a great thrill ! The speed makes me feel free as a bird who could fly away !

When I lived near Paris (at the countryside), I hung behind the cars to go even faster. In general we were several. Some distracting the driver's attention while the others clung. In Rouen there are too many cars and it runs too slowly, that's not funny. But even if that's something dangerous, I miss it.

That's which is complicated when one is passionate, it's that we can not buy his equipment in sports shops like Decathlon, Go-Sport, Sport2000, etc. The roller skates of these stores have wheels with diameters up to 80 mm, and in addition, the choice is very limited. With wheels 100 mm can go even faster, that's magic.
Like as roads and bike paths are not designed for us, this damages wheels, and must be changed frequently. That's almost as expensive than buying a pair of skates.
It is a sport much easier than people realize. Do not be afraid to fall, because when that happens, usually that's not serious. But if we are afraid, then we fall.

I am passionate about climbing. The photo-cons has also been made during an internship in Clécy. I have some difficulties with overhangs because it takes a lot of arm strength. But overall, I am flexible and I don't have afraid of the void, this goes well. This is one of my favorite sports!

Sometimes I run, I like the kayak (the descent of the Risle in Normandy is great) ! I like racket sports (tennis, badminton, etc.), walking, swimming, etc.

Discovering the world

We are fortunate to live in a heterogeneous world. Cultures, customs and traditions are very different from each other. Each has its richness, its philosophy, its legends, its customs. The discover and respect is something extraordinary.
I am mainly attracted by the Nordic countries. I dream of one day seeing an aurora borealis ! The landscapes seem magical. I am fascinated by all that snow,  the Eskimos when going very north. The sled dogs, costumes. Russia also attracts me with all its colors. There are like the heat of a wood fire that reigns in these countries. Something very human, very fraternal attracts me enormously. Last year I wanted to go to Canada PVT. For various reasons, I was not able to realize this project.
Lapland attracts me a lot. I want to discover the village of Santa Claus. Of y find dreams and magic. I'd like to see Norway, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Greenland and Alaska.
Other countries also attract me to their culture or history. Italy, Egypt, Japan, the USA, Austria, Hungary, Brazil, Australia, India, etc.
For now, I went to Nuremberg in Germany. I loved ! I had a very negative image of the country because of the two world wars, and finally I was wrong. Nuremberg was destroyed about 80% during the second war. They rebuilt the city on the old plans and it is beautiful! Over there there are only places for pedestrians and cyclists is very écologiue and the laws the streets are clean, it's really nice.
I also went to London. I loved too! And Ireland, probably the best trip I've made to date. The guide told us lots of exciting things. The legend of the giant recovery in the endless histire, which is behind the plate Buren. And so many other stories! It was just: whaou!
I also did the Core when I was a baby, I do not remember. And Scotland on a school trip. In summary, I still have the world to discover !

To the right, Nuremberg seen through a lamppost. Photo taken during my trip in 2006.
